“Opera singers are Albania's real export hits” was the headline of “Welt” in 2016 and the reason for it there is evidence: In the long completely isolated Balkan state, the traditional, folkloric style of singing, which demands and encourages musicality in special wines: the "iso-polyphony".
Dritan Angoni grew up in Tirana and when he came to Germany in 2017 to learn the language, he had already had many years of basic musical training and a bachelor's degree in Singing from the Tirana University of Music in his pocket. Among other things, he studied with the Operalia Prize winner Giuseppe Gipali.
Immediately after his arrival at Lake Constance, the search for vocal improving begins and in Constance he met the vocal teacher Ruth Frenk www.ruthfrenk.com/, who has accompanied him to this day as a teacher and mentor.
In 2019, Dritan Angoni decided to continue his studies and pursue the "Master of Arts" in opera singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart.He completed his master’s examination in July 2021 with excellence.
But that's not all: master classes lead him to internationally recognized singing teachers such as Prof. Thomas Heyer,Leah Frey-Rabine and Neil Semer as well as his compatriot, the tenor Saimir Pirgu-regularly appears in the world's best opera houses.
Dritan Angoni has often been seen in Germany and Switzerland with his tenor arias and song repertoire. Inn December 2019 with “Scenes from La Traviata” in Munich and in 2020 as Juan in Kurt Weil's “Der Kuhhandel”. In January he appeared as Fenton in “The Funny Women von Windsor ”by Otto Nicolai in a production of the Stuttgart Opera School on stage and for 2021 the role of Don Ottavio in Mozart's“ Don Giovanni ”, which was performed in Stuttgart at the Wilhelma Theater.
Due to the global crisis, important appearances such as a performance of the “Petite messe solenelle” in Stuttgart and participation in a gala concert at the Kirsten Flagstad Festival in Oslo are unfortunately canceled.
After two very intensive and instructive years of studying for a master’s degree in Stuttgart, Dritan Angoni has his first permanent engagement at the theater in Flensburg.
